The Crusades (Week 29)

Find your notes from the Crusades. Think about each of the three groups: the Byzantines, the Jews and the Muslims. Which group do you think was most impacted by the Crusades? Why? Your response should be a short paragraph in length.

I think that the Muslims were most impacted by the crusades because of their loss of land and technology. At the time Muslims had the most smart people and technology. When the crusades occurred they lost all of thier resources and land.

I think that the Muslims were impacted the most by the Crusades because the lost a lot of their technology to the other cultures/religions. The Byzantines especially took a lot of their technology back home so the Muslims are/were no longer "advanced" in technology. They also lot a lot of their land to the guys on the Crusades and along with he land, went a lot of their resources which took a big toll on them.

The Muslims were the most impacted by the Crusades. They had to give a lot of their land and technology away. At the time, Muslims were the most advanced in a lot of things. They were the smartest and had the best technology, but they were forced to give it away to the Byzantines. Also, they lost lots of land and resources during the Crusades.

The Muslims were the most impacted of the three groups. They had their land and technology taken away from the Byzantines, which is very unfair. They also had their resources taken, too. Just because they have a different religion doesn't mean they should get all their most important things taken from them.

Muslims were most impacted by the crusades because they lost their technology and didn't have the best land. Even though Muslims had a lot of contributions to medicine they were taken away by attackers. Also Muslims had very little land and most of it was taken away.

The Muslims were the most affected out of the three groups by the Crusades. Before the crusades they had a lot of land and technology. Once it happened they have to give it all away to the other cultures and religions. They did have the advantage of medicine but when they got attacked it would get taken away. I find it horrible that a religions turn against each other like that just because they believe the 'wrong' thing.

The Muslims were impacted most by Crusades. They were the smartest people then, but they lost a lot of land and resources to the Byzantines. Also, when the Crusades ended, the Muslims had to share their advanced technology with the Byzantines. Now the Byzantines know a lot more about medicine and all kinds of new stuff.

The Muslims were affected the most by the Crusades. The Muslims were advanced compared to many, but had their technology taken away and their land also taken away. The Byzantines took most of the technology, and this also resulted in loss of resources to the Muslims. The crusades also resulted in many people taking away the land of the Muslims.

I think that the Muslims were the most impacted by the Crusades. At the time they had the most advance technology. During the Crusades their technology was "stolen" so they werent the most advanced anymore. They also lost a lot of their land.

The Muslims were the most effected by the Crusades because they are the religious group who the Crusades were trying to get rid of. The Pope wanted Christians to fight against the Muslims to get holy lands back. A large number of Muslims died just because they did not share the same beliefs as Christians. This was a great example of discrimination from history.

Tiffani T. Blue Block said...

I believe the the Muslims were the most impacted group when it came to the crusades due to a few different facts. One example would be that though they may have been very advanced, most of their technology and land was lost during these times. Also, they were the main group that was targeted in the crusades. Also many of the Muslims died during the crusades greatly decreasing the size of their population.

I think that the Muslims were most impacted by the Crusades. This is because the Crusades first began when Pope Urban II made a speech arguing that it was a Christian duty to reclaim the Holy Land Jerusalem from the Muslims, because it was a place of pilgrimage for Christians. Muslims were fought against by Crusaders over and over and over again, and it was difficult because the Muslim world was in the middle of its schism. Muslims were considered great warriors, but they lost Jerusalem in 1099. This is due to many reasons, mostly because knights were enthusiastic, church and royalty worked together, Europeans adapted to Muslim fighting styles, Byzantines helped, and Islamic countries were fighting against each other, allowing Europeans to advance.

I believe that the Muslims were most impacted by the Crusades. The Crusades were a form of penance. So by fighting the Muslims, under God's name, would wipe away all their sins. In the Middle Ages, everyone wanted to go to heaven, so they joined the Crusades. During the Crusades, the Byzantines brought back the Muslim's technology and fighting tactics, and used it against them.

Sarah M. red block said...

The Jews were the most impacted by the crusades because they were forced into small communities called ghettos which were crowded and unsanitary. Also they were persecuted. Another reason why the Jews were most effected by the crusades is because the Crusaders destroyed Holy books and even synagogues. Jews still kept up their faith even throughout this terrible time in history for them.

BEN Suhler red block said...

i think that the jewish people were most efecterd because isreal was distroyed and all there torahs, sinigogs and other religuse idoms and things

Hari Iyer, blue block said...

I think that the Jews were most impacted by the crusades. First, they were driven out of their own city and had all of their religious stuff destroyed. When they got back in again, they were kicked out once again by the Byzantines. This pattern continued until the Jews were mostly gone, and those that remained were faced with forced conversions, and being forced into ghettos.

Annaliese L. red block said...

In my opinion I think that the Jews were the ones that were most affected by the crusades. Most of the Jews were killed and the ones that weren't were forced to live in ghettos. The Jews didn't even have their religion to rely on because the crusaders burned the holy books and synagogues. This was a terrible time for the Jews.

Parker Lum, red block said...

i think the Muslims were most impacted by the crusades. The because when the crusades ended the Muslims had their lands and technology taken. that is who got affected most by the crusades.

Marlea G. Blue Block said...

The Muslims were definitely the most impacted by the Crusades for two main reasons. For one, they had to give away their technology to the Byzantines. To make it worse, they had extremely smart and useful technology, which just made it a greater lost. Also, during the Crusades Muslims lost a lot of land and resources. So in general some of their most important things were taken away from them.

Galen Deats, Red Block said...

I believe that the Muslims were the most affected by the Crusades. The immensely successful First Crusade took back Jerusalem and other holy land, and the crusaders left no Muslim survivors.

Gareth Hart, RED block said...

I think that the byzantines were most affected by the crusades. When the crusaders came back from the fighting they brought back muslim ideas and concepts. The muslims were the most advanced during the crusades, so they didn't really gain much. And the byzantines didn't take the muslim technology just barowed its ideas, and whatever lands the crusaders took in the first crusade they lost again in later crusades. because of this it wasn't the muslims who were affected the most.

Alex M. blue block said...

The Muslims were impacted the most for a couple of reasons. First, during all the battles they lost some land ,which weakened their empire. They also had their technology "stolen" by the Byzantines. As a result the Muslim weren't the most advanced anymore.

RYAN EARL.,RED BLOCK said...

I think that the Muslims were impacted most by the Crusades because they lost their land and a lot of their technology. When the Crusades happened the byzantines took all of the Muslims land that they had earned from conquering. By the time the crusades were over the Muslims were no longer the most advanced in technology and medicine.

Alyana J. Red Block said...

I think the Muslims were most impacted by the crusades. In the early years, they were most advanced in technology and medicine, but once they lost their land and the Byzantines took over, things started to fall apart. By the time the crusades had ended, the Muslims were no longer the most advanced when it came to technology and medicine.

Cal Lewis, Red Block said...

Muslims were probably the most affected by the crusades. At the end of the crusades they lost their land and techonolgy to the Byzantines.

Kyle B. Red Block said...

Muslims were obviously the most impacted of the three. They were the ones who had taken over the holy lands in the first place. They were also slaughtered when the Christians won.

Mason M blue block said...

I think that the Muslims were affected the most by the crusades for many reasons. At the time, Muslims had the best technology and was very smart but during the crusades, the Byzantinescaptured much of their land and resources. Also, the Muslims had very great medicine until they were attacked and got it taken away. These are some of the resons that I think Muslims were impacted the most during the crusades.

Isaiah U. said...

I think that the Muslims were most impacted by the Crusades because the Crusades took away all of the technology and land that they had. The Muslims had some of the most advanced things.

Winston Moore, Red Block said...

The Muslims were most impacted by the crusades. Much of the Muslim land and technology was either taken or lost during the crusades. without their resources the muslims were greatly impacted.

Griffin Chambers, Blue Block said...

I think that the Muslims were the one group out of the three that were impacted the most by the Crusades. An example would be that the Muslims were drone out of there own city, and lost's of the relics were destroyed. this let to modern day people knowing not that much about the Muslims culture. Also the Muslims were targeted many more times in the Crusades.

Alice P. Blue Block said...

I believe that the Muslims were the most impacted by the Crusades. They were the most affected because of the loss of their land, technology, religion, and culture. The land that they had to deal with was poor in soil and nutrients. With poor soil, their resources were low in stock. Many attackers of the Muslims took away, not only land, but also contributions to medicines. Muslims were attacked and killed if not converted to Christianity.

Delaney T. Blue Block said...

I believe that the Muslims were impacted most by the Crusades. Although they were flourishing with new technology and medicine, their land was taken by the miltary of the Byzantines. The Muslim's religion was also fading as the Christians killed them if they did not convert to Christianity. Although they had a strong lead through new inventions and discoveries, it was impacted greatly by the loss of their culture.

Ariana w. Red block said...

I believe that the Byzantines were effected the most by the Crusades because not only did they gain land and new culture, but they also caused a lot of uproar between the Jews and the Muslims that caused a lot of tension.

Kelsey D red block said...

I believe that the Muslims were effected the most during the crusades. Lots of the technology they had was lost. With out those resources the Muslims weren't left with much. They also lost lots of there land.

Maya W. Red Block said...

Jews were. They were forced to be slaves, live in ghettoes, and leave everything behind. They tried fighting back but it didn't work

Kevin Miles, Blue Block said...

I think the Muslims were impacted by the crusades the most because of their loss of land and they became inferior technology. The Muslims were saddened and humiliated because of all the loss.

BEN SUHLER RED BLOCK said...

in the crusades the jews were most effected because they had always known that they were the oldest religion and they had awesome temples and each torah took ages to make each one but then the Crusades came and destroyed them in a day.

I think the muslims had the biggest impact on the crusades, because at the time muslims had the holy land and the crusaders wanted it so it started a series of war.

I say that the Jews were the ones that were the most effected. I think this, because the Jew were heavily massacred about half a dozen of times. Also, they were lied to about being protected, but was killed. Then, they were considered as neutral people as the conflict grew. So, that is why I think that the Jews were affected the most

Jake Ferdig w/ Red BLock said...

I think that the Muslims were the most impacted group by the crusades because of their loss in land. They were doing all fine for themselves then the crusades came around everything when haywire. Their technology was in decline as they had to give it away and they were no longer ahead of the curve in technology. Their resources were taken as well putting them in a bad place.

Sarah D. Blue Block said...

I believe that it was the Muslims that were most effected by the Crusades because of the terrible things they did to them. While killing and torturing the Muslims they also drove many Muslims out of Spain causing precious land to be lost. By stealling there land and killing there people I believe they were effected the most.

Jackson F. Red block said...

Based on my research I think that the Muslims were impacted the most. They had to survive all of the attacks in the Crusades. They were weakened by these nonstop attacks and barely made it out victorious.

Lucy stout red block said...

I think the Muslims were most impacted by the crusades, because of the major loses of land and technology. The technology was taken to were the crusades had less technology, and along with losing land the Muslims lost many people. These are two main reasons that the Muslim were most impacted by the crusades.
