Cassie is very brave in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when he stood up for Little Man. Little Man was throwing a tantrum because of the term they used as the black race. Cassie stood on her brother's side and told Miss Crocker that she did not want he book neither. This shows bravery through her actions by standing up for her brother

Mama proved that she's very passionate in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when she spent time covering the chart in the book. When Mama saw what meant so much to her kids and offended them so much it immediately meant a lot to her. The fact that she spent her spare time covering the front of every book, cutting it to size and gluing it down she was there for her kids. It was really inspiring what she was doing to hide those things from the kids. She inspired me to stand up for myself and my family like that.

Little Man is shown as a tidy character in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry. This is proven through his actions. When Little Man dresses up every morning, he makes sure his clothes are clean and don't have wrinkles. While he was walking to school, he was being very careful not to get his shoes too dirty. Finally, he wanted to have a clean book rather than a dirty one in school.

In Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, Little Man is a very picky character. When he dresses up to go to school, he takes time to make sure everything is neat and his clothes are not dirty. When Little Man was walking to school, he was careful not to shuffle when he walked, otherwise it would kick up dust. Also, when Little Man was picking up his book, he refused to take it because it was dirty. Also, when Little Man read the inside cover he stomped on the book. All these are actions that prove Little Man is very picky.

In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry, Mildred Taylor uses his words to help the reader get to know Little Man as being a neat freak. "I said may I have another one mame? This one is dirty." (P. 23). His wanting a different book because the one he was given was dirty helps us understand Little Man's need for clean things.

Mildred D. Taylor's wonderful novel, Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry, Stacey is a very obedient child. By Stacey's actions and words he is always keeping his siblings out of trouble. He looks out for his family and tries his best. He warned Little Man when the bus was coming, and told Cassie not to get her clothes dirty.

In the historical novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred D. Taylor, Cassie is shown to be a brave character. She shows this characteristic when she stands up for Little Man when he was getting told off by Miss Crocker. Cassie had seen the chart of book and was upset by what was on the chart as much as Little Man was. They were being given books in terrible quality and the blacks were being labeled as nigras. She thought it was unfair, and she agreed with her brother. Cassie was most likely aware of a punishment for her outburst, but she did it anyways.

Cassie is the bravest character in my opinion because she stood up to mrs. Crocker and she dug a big ditch for the bus to fall into. Both of the things she did she could've gotten into very big trouble but she did it anyway

Mama has proven that she is a very brave and calm character in "Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry" by Mildred D. Taylor. Miss Crocker accuses Mama and raises her voice, saying, "'Mary Logan, do you know what you're doing? That book belongs to the county. If somebody from the superintendent's office ever comes down here and sees that book, you'll be in real trouble.'...Mama remained at her desk, sitting very still. For a long time she did not move. When she did, she picked up one of the seventh-grade books and began to glue again" (Taylor, 31). This proves that Mama is very brave and calm, because she did not raise her voice back at Miss Crocker, and brave for standing up for what she believed was right.

Stacey proves to be a very vengeful character in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when he digs the ditch across the rode so the bus will get stuck . It is vengeful because he did it because they would always splash him and his family which he would no longer stand for. It is shown through his actions when he digs the ditch.

Little Man is a very confident character in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when he talks to Miss Crocker. This is brave because a little first grader stands up to a person of much higher authority and rank than him. It is shown in his actions when he steels his nerve and fights back verbally.

In the novel Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry by Mildred D. Taylor Mrs. Logan is very kind. When Mrs. Crocker tells mama what her children did to the books. Mama patiently and kindly covered up the children`s books. This shows mama`s kindness because she put other people`s thought before her own. Mama is a person that the kids look up to very much. Although she can be tough she is definitely a kind character.

TJ Avery is very annoying in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when he makes fun of Little Man. It was annoying because I can't stand when people are rude and make fun of little children. TJ was picking on Little Man by saying, "well ole little man done got his sunday clothes dirty!" (Taylor 13). This just really got on my nerves.

Stacey is very smart in roll of thunder. This is shown where he comes up with the idea of trapping the bus. Also whlast they are waiting they are thinking of putting someone out by the trap to cause the bus to speed up, but stacey says no because it give the white men ideas. This shows how smart Stacey is.

Simon R. blue block said...

Little man Logan is very short tempered in the slow book,"Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry." This is due to Little man's screaming and howling and chasing a bus with students that dumped dust on him when they passed. This shows Little Man is short tempered because he went screaming and howling after the buss.

Sarah D. Blue Block said...

I believe that the character Little Man Is tidy. I know this from his actions such as him becoming flustered if his clothes get dirty along with himself. I chose this character because I think this character trait stands out for him.

Kyle B. Red Block said...

In roll of thunder hear my cry little man shows extreme cleanliness by flipping out when a bus dumped dust on his new shirt. Little man hates his book that he got from miss crocker because it was dirty. This shows extreme cleanliness because of the way he acts to getting dirty.

In Roll Of Thunder, Hear my Cry, Cassie proves that she is very brave when she stood up for her little brother, Little Man. Little Man throws the book he received and throws a tantrum because of what they were called. Cassie turned to the page and soon figured out why he was upset. She too, soon became upset and refused to keep her book as well. Cassie stood up for her little brother and took a whipping because she stood up for him. This act of bravery is seen through her actions.

In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry, little man is vey particular. When going to school he freaks out over little grass stains and dirt spots. Also when he finds that his book is dirty he refuse to pick it up. this shows that Little Man is super particular.

In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry, Stacey is a very clever character. After being splashed by the bus for the white children every day, Stacey cracks when he sees his brother getting sadder and angrier with having to go to school everyday soaked. He takes his siblings out and digs a large hole in the street, then disguises it as a large rain puddle. To the Logan's delight, the bus gets stuck in the ditch and rolls to a complete stop. They laugh silently and run back home. Stacey's act of bravery is shown through his actions.

Marlea G, Blue Block said...

Mary (Mama) proves that she is a very understanding and clever character in Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry by her reactions to everything that's going on. When Ms. Crocker was complaining about Cassie and Little Man's actions, Mama took understanding of why they did the things they did and found a solution to the problem, rather than getting angry.

Galen Deats, Red Block said...

In the novel Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry Mr. Morrison is very violent and defensive character. When the KKK, or "night riders" attacked, Cassie reports seeing him creeping along the side of the house, shotgun in hand; this is in contrast to Mama and the rest of the characters hiding inside.

Parker Lum, red block said...

Little Man is a very clean and neat person in Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry. While he is walking to school Little man takes care not to get dirty, and takes great offence when the bus comes by and splashes him with muddy water. When Little Man gets to school he is assigned a book, he does not take it because it is very old and dirty, but eventually does because thta is the only way he can pass his grade.

In the riveting novel, Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry, Little Man proves that he is brave and very responsible. When they're walking home from school, Little Man doesn't want to get dirty because then his mom will have to wash his
clothes. Also when his brothers and sisters needed him when they were digging the pot holes, he was happy to do what ever they wanted him to do. Without getting too dirty!

Mason M. BLUE BLOCK said...

IN the novel Roll Of Thunder Hear My Cry, Stacey is very brave becuase he challenged the white bus driver. Stacey did this by getting his brother and sister to help dig mud holes for the white bus driver to crash in. This was brave because Stacey ignored the punishments and did what he thought would be fair for the blacks.

Little Man is a very confident character in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when he receives his book and does not accept it because it is dirty and worn out. He stands up to Miss Crooker. He certainly knows what is coming for him when she gets made and whips him with a switch. Also when he is digging the ditch with the his siblings, he doesn't mind that if anyne found out he would be in huge trouble, he just wanted to enjoy the time he got.

TJ Avery is a dishonest person in Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. When he notices Mama coming towards him with his cheat notes he hands them to Stacey and lets Stacey take the blame and the punishment for them.It shows he is dishonest by his actions.

In the suspenseful novel Roll of Thunder hear my cry, by Mildred D. Taylor i think that Cassie is the bravest character. I think this because he stands up for Mrs. Crocker, and when they dig the ditch Cassie is risking her safety.

TJ Avery is very dishonest in Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry when he let Stacey take the blame for TJ having the answers of the test on a piece of paper. TJ had the chance to admit they were his, but being the person he is, he didn't. This shows how dishonest TJ is and that hes willing to let a friend take the blame for something he did.

Big Ma is the bravest, because she got the gun from the bed, sat down, and was in lookout, because she doesn't want her family to get hurt. she is about 80, and she has taken a gun, which, the knockback could kill her, and she uses it to defend the house if needed

In Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry, Cassie is a very brave character. When Little Man was in trouble, she stood up for him. An example would be when Little Man got upset about the term they used for the black race. This shows Cassie's bravery by standing up for her little brother.

Stacie is a smart, brave character in Roll Of Thunder. He strategically has the logan children dig a hole in the ground on the bus route to trap the bus. he knew that there would be consequences if he was found digging the hole but he did it to restore their families sense of pride.

Alex M. blue block said...

In Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, Stacey is a very smart character. This trait is shown by his actions. He is smart because he knew where to dig the hole so that is would break the bus. He also had his siblings fill it up with water to make the hole look like it was a big puddle.

In the exciting novel Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry, the character Stacey (oldest Logan child) is very brave. with his dad away working on the rail road, he is the man of the house, which leaves him with a lot of responsibilities, even when Mr.Morrison comes.

In the novel, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, Cassie is a naive young girl. She believes in what she thinks is right and follows it. She is so naive, that when Mama told Cassie that Mr. Simms liked Lillian Jean better than Cassie, Cassie thought Mr. Simms was crazy. Because of her actions, Cassie is a very naive girl.

Cassie is stubborn int Roll of Thunder, Hear my Cry. An example of her behavior is when her older brother Stacey tells her to stop or to mind her own business, she either puts up an argument or gets angry and finds out later, this shows her stubbornness.
