Finishing Up 7th Grade (Week 35)

It's hard to believe that this year is nearly over! It has flown by. It has been my immense pleasure and honor to teach each one of you this year; I feel truly lucky to have known each of you. Although we have had our fantastic days and a few rough ones, this has been an incredible year! I hope that you each remember that although I might drive you crazy from time to time, I do begin and end each day with these questions:
  • Is this best for kids?
  • Am I being the change I want to see in this world?
  • Is this is a classroom I would want my niece to be in?
Some days the answers are YES and others, I've realized it was a loud NO!

For your final blog, please reflect on this year. Write about a few (2-4) experiences that have really stood out to you. This will be in paragraph form. It doesn't have to be about LA/SS. Anything that has happened this school year is fine!

This year has been fantastic! I have finally gotten the idea of how it all works and now I'm really used to it. Many fun experiences were Communications, all the fun electives, the Zine, and the Renaissance Faire. It's been a great year, I hope the next is even better!

This year has been so fun and has gone by too fast. Some experiences that stood out to me were meeting new friends, the Renaissance Faire, our class parties, the Zine project, and when you told us you were pregnant! I have had so much fun in your class. You have taught me so much and you made each class super fun. I love having you as a teacher and I hope I can TA for you next year!

I had a really great time this year, it was challenging yet exteremly rewarding. The assignment that I wasthe most proud of was my Zine project. I also had a lot of fun with the inclass interacts. By far though, the Renaissance Faire was the most exciting project, mainly because you get anxious and nervous that one of your group members forgot something and it completely had us rely on eachother. You were also my favorite teacher, you wanted to push your students and I really needed that push.

During this year, I've experienced a good year. A few things that stood out to me this year was the Renaissance Faire, making the zine, and the different classes that I took. The interacts in SS were also pretty fun. I had a fun time with our LA/SS class this year!

This year I learned a lot of new things, and mostly from LA/SS. One project that really stood out for me was the Renaissance Faire. I learned a lot about my topic, and I had fun interacting with the visitors, and teaching them about Butter and Cheese. Next year, I hope to become your TA!

This year has gone by very fast. I will remember this year for a long time. Some things that i particularly remember are the in class interacts, which always took some strategy but were fun, the Renaissance fair which taught us teamwork and to trust each other, and the Zine project, which was fun but challenging because I was in Hawaii. I hope next year can be even better.

This 7th grade year has been amazing! The Renaissance Faire was definitely the highlight of the year, but other great things abound; the Amazing Race, the Zine project, and (this may not be LA/SS) the trip we took down to downtown Portland in Science at the beginning of the year! All in all, though it has been very challenging, this year has been my greatest school year so far.

For me seventh grade was surprising. I came into the Junior High only knowing my fellow "Grovers" but I soon got to the point were I couldn't even remember who went to Lake Grove and who didn't. At first the schedule was confusing and all of my classes seemed so far away. Probably the most memorable moment was the renaissance fair, getting to see people's tents. I can't wait to become an eighth grader and rule the school!

This has been a good year. I made a lot new friends, got over my fear of talking in front of people, and I got to find out about new things and meet a bunch of new people. I hope next year is just as great as this year.

I still remember the first week of school, I was so nervous. I had no idea how to open a lock, get around the school, or just to make it through the year! Now it seems so silly to think how I didn't know how to do those things. The people I didn't know before, I can't imagine living without. I had a great year with ups and downs.

I can't believe the random things I stressed over, like certain parts of the Zine! The people I didn't know before, I can't imagine living without. I had a great year with ups and downs. I can't wait for next year!

This year has been so much fun. I really enjoyed all of the different interacts and the ways you were able to teach us without even knowing it. I had so much fun in 3-D art as well and I hope I can take it again next year. Lastly I really remember the Renaissance fair and how quickly it was over. I am so thankful for all the new friends I made and all the fun I had. Hopefully I will be able to TA for you next year!

Are you serious? It's already the end of the year?? It can't be.

This had been one of my favorite years of school that I have ever had. I met new and incredible people, my classes were all fun and I have learned more about myself than I ever thought possible in one year. Some of my favorite things this year were The Renaissance Faire, the Relay for Life, the "Purchase Points" joke, and becoming part of a family in our LA/SS class. Save me a spot next year, I would love to TA for you!!

Thanks for making this year unforgettable, you have been one of my favorite teachers of all time.

This was my first year at a public school and i loved it. I had a great time in your class this year participating in interacts and other fun lessons. I love Wednesdays getting out at two. I also had a great time having new electives every quarter. Another highlight was the renaissance faire and i loved working with my friends. You were one if not my favorite teacher this year and hopefully i can TA for you next year.

Wow, it's the end of the year.

Anyways, what I learned the hard way this year was bullying. Before this year, I was not bullied. It really wasn't that much of a shock to me, I was actually expecting it to happen. But what really caught me off guard about it was that a month or two after the bully apologized, the bully turned around, and started teasing me again as if nothing ever happened. I did tell the teacher, and thankfully the bullying did stop, but it still hurt. But if it does happen again, I will know what to do. So there is a rainbow after the rain after all. Anyways, have a good summer!

Although I have had some wonderful memories, I really need a break. I loved the first interact we did this year where we had to survive. However I was not in your class at that point because that was before I switched out. I also really loved all of our random games of whos dating who? Those were always very interesting. One thing I will never forget is how soda is also known as "dope". I loved this year and I really have no clue how its already over. Thank you for making this year amazing!!!

This year was amazing! I learned so much, met all kinds of new people, and made a ton of new friends. I remember the first day of school when all the classes were awkward, and how close everyone has become since then! Relay for Life, Choir, and LA/SS are some of the many unforgettable memories I have made this year. After a year of getting to know my teachers, you were my favorite! Hopefully I'll get to TA for you next year and be in your class more than just this year. :)

Over thi year, I have learned a whole bunch of things that i would have never known in LA and SS. One experience that i have had this year that i enjoyed was doing the Zine project. The Zine was a fun project to me because we got a lot of time to work out each part one step at a time. Another experience that i had this year was doing the Rennaissance Faire. The Ren Faire was very... interesting. I would say it was easy but ome things, such as meeting together and all agreeing on one idea, was hard. Once we had our plan down, we found that the Ren Faire was a few days away so we had to rush at the last minute and get all of our things together. But in the end, the Ren Faire was very fun and a good experience.

This year has definitely been an interesting year. I have learned lots of cool things. A few of the things that has stuck out to me is all the fun times at lunch, the Renaissance Fair, Relay for Life (and the root beer float "after party"), and how quickly our LA/SS class can change the subject,(along with all the random topics and things we say).

This year has been one to remember. I have met many new friends and a handful of great teachers too! I remember when we had the first electronic day in LA/SS. And I love it when you say, "you guys have to realize ____________" it really got drilled in my head when you said stuff in that format, you had a way of saying it I guess. Overall this year will never be forgotten.

This year was so fun and a great learning experience. I had gained lots of knowledge and met lots of new friends. To me the experiences that stood out the most was when Mrs. Blancher said she was pregnant, my mind blew. Also when "The Renaissance Faire" arrived I was shocked it was finally here and I was so happy to be in this class and period because there are so many great, and INTERESTING people but we all learn and made mistakes. Thank you Mrs. Blancher.

This year i have accomplished many things. I have become a better trumpet player through practice and determination. I have made many new and amazing friends. I am very proud of the renaissance fair project, i felt like i did a great job on it and that my group was fun, but very efficient with handling the work. You were one of my favorite teachers, i feel as if you knew how to handle kids, and you understood how kids felt. You were also the most bold and one of the most friendly teachers. As fun as school was i am glad it is drawing to an end.

7th grade was a lot of fun. I've met so many new people, and I've learned so many new things! I have achieved most of the goals I set at the beginning of the year and I'm happy to move on to 8th grade. A few things that have stood out to me in LA/SS this year was the renacanse faire and the "reenactments" that we did. These helped me understand lessons most of the time. LA and SS were never any of my good subjects but after this year I have found fasination in both of them and you were a great teacher to have! You have helped me so much and I couldn't ask for more, thank you!

Yes, I think that this is the best classroom to be in. They have a chance to be funky, and serious, having you as a teacher. Yes, you are the changes I want to see in the world. I want a world where all teachers are goofy, and serious at task-on-hand. This classroom would be a wanted class for niece, but it would be partially awkward, because an aunt is the class teacher, but other than that, they would be very proud, and happy to be in your class.

Throughout the entire school year, I had many memories that were both fun and exciting experiences. I met many new people who were able to become some of my new best friends. I had a great time learning about the world before the 21st century and about how to use personifications, idioms, metaphors, and etc. This year, I went through some hardships with friends, but I was finally able to realize who my true friends were. Being in your LA/SS class helped me in many ways. I was able to have fun while learning and having a good laugh every day. Some highlights of my year include band concerts, the Renaissance Faire, the Zine project, the Relay for Life, and the purchasing points event. So many memories. Those are the memories that will stay with me forever. Without a doubt, this has been one of my greatest years ever! I can't wait until 8th grade! Thanks for providing a great, first year, at Lake Oswego Junior High School!

This year has gone by too fast. I remember the first week of my classes like it was yesterday. I was rushing around to get to class on time, failing to get my lock open, and making new friends by the week. This year has been a blur, with only a few important things remembered over all. These are the Renaissance Faire, Relay for Life, The end of the year band concert, and of course, my teachers. If I had the time, I would TA, but unfortunately, the electives I picked out will not let me. I still have had one of the best school years of my life, and 7th grade LA/SS will be remembered by me as a class that really helped me discover my true potential

This year is truly different than any other years I had before. however out of all of the classes I have taken SS has to be the best. I liked how we got to do simulations in class, includeing the amazing race and the manors simulation. I wil miss this year greatly.

I'm amazed that this year is drawing to an end. It feels like just a few months ago I was walking through each of my seven classes and struggling to get the hang of my locker. Two experiences that stand out to me are the Relay for Life and the Portland field trip in the fall. I loved spending the end of the day at the high school, walking the track with friends and participating in the activities. I also had a lot of fun running around Portland in my science group, finding items in a scavenger hunt and eating at the food carts.

This year I have met great new friends and teachers. There have been many fun experiences and some bad ones, but all in all it has been a great year filled with fun and excitement. One of the experiences that really stood out to me was doing the first simulation in social studies. This stimulation showed me how much fun we would have in Social Studies while still learning a lot too. Another experience that really impacted me was when we went to the field trip to downtown Portland. It was a bunch of fun and a lot different from sitting inside a classroom. One of the last memories that was special to me this year was the relay for life. I really enjoyed this because the entire school worked towards the event, and it helped the American Cancer Society which was really awesome. I have had a great seventh grade year and I will miss all my teachers, but I can`t wait for the many more experiences I will have in eighth grade.

This year I have had so much fun and learned a lot more. I've gained new friends and kept old ones, helped the school and charity out by participating in different events, given speeches on topics I never thought I would, and struggled to balance my personal life and school life. All in all, this year has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, but in the end, it was worth it. I hope I take the skills I have learned in seventh grade with me to eighth. Thanks for the amazing year!

This year has gone by really fast. I remember a lot of things, but I mostly remember the Ren Faire, the Zine, and the interacts in Social Studies. The Renaissance Faire was really fun, and even though our group messed around a lot, we got it done and I am very happy about that. The interacts were really fun because you learned a lot but had fun at the same time. I really like this class, and I hope I can be your TA next year!

This year flew by, but it was a great one. i experienced many new things, such as a different, fun and amazing teacher for almost all of my classes, eating in the cafeteria, and making new friends from other schools.
